ABOUT THE EVENT
Join us for our virtual event, We Can’t Wait: Equity and Justice Now!, as YWCA USA CEO Margaret Mitchell sits down with lawyer, minister, and the youngest child of civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, Bernice King, to discuss the deep-seated systemic racism and inequities faced by disadvantage communities of color that are still woven into the fabric of our institutions today—from civic engagement to economic development, from education to health care, and even the way people of color are portrayed in the media.
We will also highlight how YWCAs across the country work with grassroots groups, community-based organizations, government agencies, and academic leaders to root out inequity in our communities and in the institutions that compose our society to demand justice and equity.
