Join YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish and Town Hall Seattle for an afternoon discussion about the harmful effects of racism in media. This virtual event is FREE but registration is required.

Online registration for this free virtual event is now open on Eventbrite! This year’s theme is Journalism, Race, and Gender and will focus on the harmful effects of racism and gender bias in news media from the perspective of local BIPOC journalists and Black-owned media outlets.

Hear from featured speaker Naomi Ishisaka (The Seattle Times, Assistant Managing Editor for Diversity & Inclusion), Marcus Harrison Green (South Seattle Emerald, Publisher), and Florangela Davila (KNKX, News Director), and learn about the history and role of Black-owned media with The Seattle Medium and Converge Media.

This year marks the 11th anniversary of the Stand Against Racism event in Seattle, hosted by the People of Color Executive Council (POCEC) of YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish.
